PSU population increases

by Kathleen Ferrer Pangasinan State University Lingayen campus increased its number of enrollees once again with a new record of 5,127 from last year’s 4,211 enrollees. This is according to the Registrar’s Office headed by Mrs. Helen B. Mabanta. With 2,124, the Freshmen got the highest number of enrollees. PSU observes 109th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary

Guided with the theme “Honoring Our Heroes in Republic Service Responsive, Ethical Public Servants with Vision, Impact, Commitment and Excellence,” a program was held at the PSU Convention Hall last September 30, 2009 as the concluding part of the month-long observance of the 109th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service. The said program was participated by all the personnel of the Pangasinan State University Lingayen, Campus both teaching and non-teaching staff. The program was filled with inspirational messages coming from various speakers that graced the said activity. PSU’s new Social Workers

by Christine Inez Aquino The Bachelor of Science in Social Work under the Social Science Department took pride of its six new licensed Social Workers for passing the PRC Licensure Examination for Social Worker last June 23-24, 2009. This batch of examinees is the first batch of the BSSocial Work program. According to the result released by the PRC last June 27, 2009, 691 paased the examination among the 1,280 examinees nationwide. Only fifteen PSU students took the examination in which six examinees passed. This shows that the National passing rate is 53% and 40% PSU passing rate. CEGP La Union Chapter holds Seminar Workshop for Ammoyo 2009

The College Editor’s Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) La Union Chapter conducted Seminar –Workshop as a part of the yearly celebrated Ammoyo 2009. The Seminar-Workshop was held last Sept. 11-13, 2009 at Paradiso Resort, Aringay, La Union. It was participated by student writers and publication advisers from different high schools, colleges and universities in Region I. The delegates from Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus were Kathleen Ferrer, David Rabelas and Jennylyn Bumagat.
