CAST CHRONICLE

A CONSTELLATION composed of twenty-two immense celestial bodies gathered at the PSU covered court last September 24, 2009 to vie for the prestigious title of Mr. and Ms. Environmentalist 2009.

All the candidates were required to attend the Parade at the PSU Oval. Then, all were gathered inside the covered court for the opening program. The well-rehearsed production number of the candidates highlighted the event’s opening.

Two weeks before the pageant proper, the candidates underwent a casual wear competition where in Mr.Ferdinand dela Cruz Jr. of II-BSHM (B) and Ms. Odessa Doroin of II-BSE Physical Science got the awards for the Best Prepared Casual Wear.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mark Gerry Oblanca and Ms. Eileen Grace Mendez, both from II-AB English (B) received the Awards for the Best Prepared Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog for the Formal Wear Competation. All the casual wear of the candidates and their formal attire were made from biodegradable material.

The crowd is also given the chame to vote for their favorite pair, and the People Choices Award was given to Mr. Carmelo Bon Velasco of III-BSE -Physical Science and Ms. Clare Datuin of I-BSE Physical Science.

With their perfect body in motion and award-winning creative costumes, Mr. Ferdinand dela Cruz Jr. and Ms. Eileen Grace Mendez e m e r g e d victorious, for they were announced as the most deserved pair among all the candidates from different courses by winning the crown for Mr. and Ms. Environmentalist 2009. The new title holders also bagged the fame of receiving Mr. and Ms. Photogenic Awards.

Other contestants who made it to the top three spots were Mark Gerry Oblanca of II-AB English and Ms. Leah Marinas of II-BSHM (B) occupied the 1st Runner Up spot. The Second Runner-Up slots were taken by Joseph Begonia and Ms. Odessa Doroin of II-BSE Physical Science while the Third Runner-Up was given to Mr. Vicente Repangcol and Ms. Jyrele Ferrer, both from II-AB English (A).

The pageant was organized by Mr. Eddierick Tomas, Ms. Jasmine de Leon and Mrs. Lina Cancino, faculty members of the Natural Science department in collaboration with the unified efforts of the Environmentalist’s Club headed by Mr. Rowel dela Cruz and with the support of the students from different courses.
