After the Math department team (male) triumphantly gulped down their court adversary, the HRM team in a breathtaking semi-final basketball riot, they were given the chance to contend the reigning champion, the Technology team, for the championship game.

Unstoppable showcasing of ball tricks were shown by the court rivals, the tagged 2008 basketball men champion, the Technology team and this year’s contender, the Math team. The clamor for support for both teams aggrandized the spirit of the players for victory.

The game started with the first ball for the contender. Center Jerome Tomelden and Dumlao of the said team first scored and stole the ball from the technology team, respectively.

Math team nailed over the champs in the entire first quarter without giving any chance for the champs to pin them down.

Dumlao again in a lightning speed like stealing and fast break cleverness and the shooting talent of Cacho and dela Cruz primarily advanced over their opponent with thescore 19-11.
With the determination to equal the 8 point gap, Sison of the Technology team rebound the ball and passed it to Tandoc all the way for three points making the gap little. Sorio of same team in a brainy attack scored for another three points with only a second left in the clock gaining him a loud applause and a deafening cheer from the audience.
Because of the amazing performances of both teams, eardrum breaking vociferation reverberated in the entire gymnasium.

The gap became bigger the reigning champion requires more smart attacks to equal it. A very good offense by Sorio and Astroby of the champs resulted for another three increase point for their team.

On the other hand, Dumlao, Cacho and dela Cruz of the other team, hand in hand compelled their opponent’s attempts to equal the edge. The latter scored for three points making it harder for the champs to turn the score for their favor. The champs called for a time out to think of a strategy that could destroy the strong tactic of their contenders.
Math team received an outrageous cheer from the viewers when Dumlao skillfully scored for another two points with 2 minutes-remaining time in the 3rd quarter.

Technology team in the last quarter doubled their opponents to possibly stop them from scoring. But at the end, the reigning champion exhaustedly and hopelessly massacred by their contenders. The final score was 70 for the Math team versus 58 for the Technology team.
Right after that spectacular basketball championship battle, Mathematics team was proclaimed as the 2009 Basketball (men division) Champion.
