PSU Sports War 2009
by Gemark Quinan Through the strong initiative of the Physical Education (PE) and National Service Training Program (NSTP) departments, Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus once again conducted a two-day Sports explosion, the Intramurals 2009. Armed with the theme “A Sound Mind and a Sound Body: Through Excellence in Sports†this sports event was organized for an inter-department competition. The competing teams include: Mathematics, ICT and CS department; Social Science department; ND, HM, HMT; department, the joined forces of the Natural Science and Communication Arts departments; and the reigning champion, the Technology department. PSU Street Dancing competition
by Genmark Quinan Incelebration of the PSU Biennial 2009 last July 21-24, a Street Dancing competition was held. This was participated in by the different components of PSU. During the opening parade of the celebration, the street dancers showcased their amazing costumes, props, and steps which brought entertainment to everyone. This was the first part of the competition. After the parade, the participants went directly to the PSU Convention hall where the second part of the competition washeld. Amusing performances were executed by all the competing groups. They proved that everyone deserves to be the victors. At the end of the competition, PSU San Carlos was declared as the champions as they eclipsed the other participants. At the end of the day, victory smiles for the Social Science department as they triumphantly demolished their competitors. Their total score of 240.5 only proves that they deserve to be called the “champion.†Ranked next to them is last year’s champion, the Technology department. They scored 183 showing a big edge of the new champ from their score. Mathematics ICT and CS department seized the third place as they defeated the SciCom and the ND, HM, HMT departments. However, ND, HM, HMT department hailed fourth place and the joined forces of Nat. Science and Communication Arts departments or the SciCom ranked last.
